BIOGRAPHY

Robert L. Horton a Seattle native, has worked as a professional artist over the past 30 years. Robert works in pen and ink, watercolor, acrylic, airbrush as well as glassblowing. He received his AA&S degree in Advertising Art from Seattle Central Community College. He has coursework in life drawing, glassblowing, theater set de[1]signing as a community volunteer.

 

Several years ago, Robert displayed a prominent art exhibit called ‘Souls of Sweetness’-scenes of Haiti, at Gallery 110 in downtown Seattle. The show featured a vivid displays of art works from the beautiful country of Haiti. Years later he assembled a powerful art exhibit called “American History X” that celebrated the rich contributions of African Americans in American history. He featured his works in numerous art galleries, art exhibits throughout Seattle and Northwest territories over the past 25 years. Onyx Fine Arts Collective art exhibits, the Bellevue Arts Festival, Edmonds Arts Festival are just a few art exhibits Robert participated in. He has won numerous awards throughout his career: including, 2015 “Second Place” at the Onyx Fine Arts 11 Annual Art Exhibit, and 2008 “Best in Show” at the Art Merchant International Art Expo, Issaquah, WA respectfully.

 

Robert has been involved with several community base projects, including a 31’ x 17’ mural for the Seattle Rainier Beach Library, called ‘UnMask Your Mind!’ Designed several posters for local youth group programs, and even assist as a set designer for Rainier Valley Youth Theater in South Seattle.

 

Robert currently shows his work with local art group Onyx Fine Arts Collective as a artist. He also participates as one of their Board members over the past ten years.
